Welcome, I'm Maria!
The online dietitian, writer, recipe developer, and content creator behind this wellness blog and YouTube Channel.
I focus on creating delicious and doable recipes that help nourish the body while satisfying the soul.
Why I Do What I Do (and Why Online)
I have witnessed firsthand the danger of inaccurate nutrition information on the internet. But I like to take a "glass half-full" approach – the internet also gives people the opportunity to access reliable, science-backed advice without waiting lists, high costs, or other barriers.
This inspired me to start my YouTube channel at the end of 2023, where I provide free and accurate nutrition information to the public.
As my channel grew, so did the demand for simple, time-efficient, and nutritious recipes – and I was thrilled that everyone loved them! This site is my cozy space where you can find not only these recipes but also nutrition articles to help simplify the science of eating well.
I hope you enjoy this little corner of the internet as much as I do,
xo Maria, Your Online Dietitian!
My Nutrition Philosophy
As a Registered Dietitian, I believe that food is the foundation of good health. But as a busy and practical person, I also know that getting a meal on the table doesn’t have to be complicated. I focus on balance and variety with some moderation, because food is one of life’s simple pleasures and plays a role far beyond just providing nutrition. My goal is to make healthy eating easy, enjoyable, and something you can sustain long-term.
My Background as a Registered Dietitian
Education: I graduated with a first-class honors BSc Degree in Human Nutrition & Dietetics from Trinity College Dublin in 2016. For my undergraduate dissertation, I had the opportunity to research bariatric (weight loss) surgery at Purdue University in the United States.
Clinical Experience: I've worked as a clinical dietitian in Ireland, Uganda, and Bermuda, helping people in both hospitals and the community. In 2020, I launched my own online practice during the pandemic, and it has quickly flourished into a highly sought-after resource for clients seeking effective nutrition support.
Current Career: In addition to seeing clients in the online clinic, I have become a trusted and sought-after media dietitian. I regularly write articles for reputable media outlets and provide consultancy services to brands, commodity boards, and retailers on their health and wellness marketing strategies. Due to the success of my YouTube channel, I’ve been able to reach a wider audience, sharing valuable nutrition insights and tasty recipes that make healthy living more accessible for everyone.
